Functional GI and Motility Disorders

Intestinal Motility Disorders This term refers to intestinal compression, such as spasms and  loss of intestinal motility. This term is used to describe a variety of diseases in which the bowel loses its ability, due to internal or external causes, to carry out vigorous activity. The disease can be primary or secondary and can be seen in different ways. In general, changes in the passage of food and secretions into the intestine related to the stomach are considered intestinal motility disorders. These include intestinal motility disorders, such as pseudointestinal obstruction (Ogilvy syndrome), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), fecal incontinence, and constipation.
