Addiction Psychiatry

Addiction psychiatry is a specialized field of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of substance use disorders and other forms of addiction. Addiction psychiatrists work with individuals suffering from addiction, their families, and communities to address the complex physical, psychological, and social factors that contribute to addiction.

In
addition to treating addiction, addiction psychiatrists can also play a role in preventing addiction and promoting a healthy lifestyle. They can work with schools, community organizations, and health care providers to raise awareness of the risks associated with drug use and provide education and support to individuals and families affected by addiction.
