Psychiatry

The specialty called psychiatry is dedicated to the detection, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses and emotional disorders. Physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses using a combination of medications, psychotherapy, and other treatments are called psychiatrists.
