Occupational Health Professionals

Occupational health specialists are ideally and particularly placed to encourage people to stay at work as they live full and healthy lives. They play a major role in ensuring the health and well-being of the working population by anticipating work-related ill health and offering specialist rehabilitation advice. Occupational physicians must have knowledge of epidemiology, disease prevention, and toxicology. They must have the ability to identify, determine the risk to health, and know how to prevent and control workplace hazards, and also know how to recognize and manage occupational disease. They encourage management on these risks and on their implementation for employees’ health and for business continuity.
