Vitreoretinal disorders are ailments that affect the retina and vitreous, two components in the eye. The retina is a light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye that concentrates images and sends them to the brain via the optic nerve. The vitreous covers the area between the lens (at the front of the eye) and the retina with a clear gel.
